The goal of this project is to provide KIX Africa 21 member countries with a core of common knowledge and skills for lower secondary school curricula in language, mathematics and science. This core of knowledge and skills will ultimately be used to develop large-scale international assessment instruments such as PASEC. Thus, the project consists in carrying out a comparative study of the mathematics, language of instruction, physical sciences and life and earth sciences curricula of the last level of the first cycle of secondary school in the member countries of the KIX Africa 21 center, so as to (1) bring to light the divergences and, above all, the points of convergence of the contents of these curricula; (2) compare these points of convergence with international standards in terms of large-scale evaluation; (3) develop a proposed specification table specifying for each of these disciplines the domains, pedagogical objectives and cognitive processes commonly targeted in teaching-learning in the target countries.
